Creatures of Love – Vakkula (Figure of 8 Remix)

Belfast-based producer Figure Of 8 certainly caught me off guard with his remix of London ‘chillwave’ trio Creatures Of Love and their track, ‘Vakkula’.  The remix is a slight departure from his singles ‘Nobody Cries For Me‘ (we blogged that here) and ‘Bittersweet‘ (we didn’t blog that, oops). It’s quite reminiscent of Jackson & His Computer Band, the era where he was moving from the house sounds of ‘Moon Kick‘ to the craziness of ‘Smash‘. You could call it ‘IDM’ but without the pretentiousness calling your music ‘IDM’. And we shall call it that, NPIDM. Enjoy.

最近ちょっと気になったのがロンドンのchillwave トリオ、Creatures Of Love の ’Vakkula’ リミックスを作った、アイルランド・ベルファストのプロデューサー、 Figure Of 8。以前紹介した彼のシングル、 ’Nobody Cries For Me‘ や、紹介していない(おっと) ’Bittersweet‘ とはちょっぴり違う感じで、ハウスな’Moon Kick‘ からクレイジーな ‘Smash‘に移った時辺りのJackson & His Computer Band とも共通点を感じるようなスタイルになっています。所謂、’IDM’ とも言えるんだと思いますが、このリミックスに関しては、NPIDM と呼んでいこうと思います。

I’m not sure when it’s released, the link goes to a bandcamp, but the remix is not there. =/

残念がらリリース日がわかりません。リンク先はbandcamp なんだけれど、リミックスはそこにはないっていう…。
