Get People – Macaw (Morris Cowan Remix)

Get People are a band from London who have toured with the likes of Crystal Fighters and Metronomy. It was a bit hard to find some words about them as the usual resources of re-wording a bio from the facebook and last.fm pages were DENIED.

Get PeopleはCrystal FightersやMetronomyなんかともツアーした事のあるロンドンのバンド。色々と紹介したいんですが、facebookやlast.fmをチェックしてもなかなか情報が載ってなかったのでごめんなさい。

However, a bit more detective work with google led to a fair few articles about them being around for about a year and being one of those things that are one to watch. Their new single “Macaw” has also generated a fair few plays on soundcloud too.

その後googleでちょっと調べてみると彼らについて書いてある記事を発見。それらによると、彼らはここ1年程活動していて、よくある感じの“今後要チェックなバンド”、の1組だとか。彼らのニューシングル、”Macaw” はsoundcloudでも結構プレイされている様子。

But, enough of all that. Because some chap called Morris Cowan (whose real name appears to be Adam..) , who hails from Manchester has done a splendid 7-minute remix of this track. I’m not sure what ‘genre’ to call it really. It’s like, um… remember when Aeroplane used to put something in their mixcharts (early days) that wasn’t disco but was still quite unique, danceable and electronic? Uh, this is that thing! So, yeah! I really like it! It’s also got that attention for detail we liked so much in the Debukas ep. A sound we have now decided to call “Rainbow Kitten With Butterfly On Nose Pretty House“. 説明はこれくらいにして、今回紹介するのはマンチェスターのMorris Cowan (本名はAdamらしい..) による7分間に及ぶリミックス。ジャンル分けするのは難しいんですが、例えるなら、Aeroplaneの初期のミックスチャートに入っているディスコじゃないんだけどちょっとユニークでフロア向けのトラック、みたいな? 分かるかなぁ。まぁ、素敵なのです。そして、私たちのかなりお気に入りなDebukasのepにあった様な細部へのこだわりも良い感じ。そして、これを機にこんな感じの音楽を”Rainbow Kitten With Butterfly On Nose Pretty House“というジャンルにしようと思います。使ってね♪
