Sidechains – Voyager
I was kinda moaning about how Daft Punk bootlegs getting worse and worse (it’s true.. some of y’all need to stop making them) on twitter yesterday (so modern) when I remembered that I seem to have forgotten to post this really good cover-version of “Voyager” from Sidechains*. It’s a loungey-jazz take on the track, which might seem like a bad idea to some but it really works and with a bit of style too.
昨日twitterにてDaft Punkのブートレッグの質がどんどん下がっていっている事についてぼやいていたんですが、Sidechains*によるこの素敵な”Voyager” のカバーの事をすっかり忘れていました。なんだかラウンジジャズな雰囲気たっぷりで、大丈夫?って思う人もいるかもしれませんが、ここは信じて聞いてみて下さい。ちゃんと良い感じになってるんです。

*It’s taken from a compilation project from a few years back, we actually did post some tracks from it. However, the post got taken down (blogspot memories…). Here are a couple of others, you gotta love Crescendolls + Accordion!!

Hahaha… I kinda have mixed feelings about that. It reminds me of Desperado.. which is cool. But, it also reminds me of Gypsy Kings… which I had to endure a fair bit of in my chillhood… yikes.
this whole compilation was made by Catalan artists and they were unable to use original Daft Punk samples but they had to re-interpretate the DF songs on their own styles.
as a catalan DJ, I’m really proud of what they did and achieve.
want to add that Sidechains is finishing their new producions and i’m pretty sure he’s gonna release’em very soon
wow, i wasn’t expecting that at all. there’s a pretty rare level of creativity going on with that track. i love it.
i agree that there’s been some awful things done to daft punk tracks recently but i heard this the other day (not entirely sure if it’s or not, i think it is?) and it was enough to restore my faith:
