1. Chilly Gonzales – Ivory Tower.
We admit that when we first came upon this album, the fact that it’s produced by Boys Noize definitely peaked our interest, but those expecting the Boys Noize vibe had their hopes dashed when they listened to “Ivory Tower.” The production has a very delicate touch — reminiscent of his time as Kid Alex — and includes Chilly Gonzales’ magical piano skills, creating a really balanced sound. A true disco album of the kind rarely heard in recent years.

2. Whitey – Canned Laughter.
Whitey is doomed never to sell more than six copies of anything he does which is a shame. Canned Laughter was technically the long-awaited follow-up to “The Light At The End Of The Tunnel Is A Train” and it didn’t disappoint. A tour-de-force of well crafted and a little bit miserable pop songs, but behind this “miserable-image” there is still lots of joy to behold. An album that should not be missed at all.

3. Bot’Ox – Babylon By Car.
It really is hard to find much wrong with this album, it’s a wonderful electronica album filled with experimental floaty tracks and in some cases straight up pop songs. Was angry it took me so long to discover them because I had been missing out, don’t make the same mistake that I did.

4. Lindstrøm And Christabelle – Real Life Is No Cool.
An album that suffered heavily from being released at the start of 2010 because everybody seemed to miss it. Crammed full of tunes that will make you happy and in the mood for a party, in some cases you’d be forgiven to thinking you were listening to “lost” Jackson 5 tunes.

Lindstrøm & Christabelle – Lovesick [iTunes]

5. Thieves Like Us – Again & Again.
Listening to this album quite heavily during the summer. Thieves Like Us didn’t disappoint as they delivered exactly what we had expected/wanted, which is lovely relaxing music for the later hours. “One Night With You”, “Never Known Love” and “Shyness” are such victory tracks! Really hope they won’t change their style in the future.
