Ab-Chan’s Top Ten!

1. The Vanish – Hold On (Gemini Club Remix)
The original was pretty special to begin with, the Gemini Club remix is practically other-worldly. No remix has come close to this for me. Nothing else sounds like it too. It’s genuinely a little piece of original genius. If you haven’t heard it yet make up for it now.

2. Housse De Racket – Oh Yeah! (Walter Sobcek Remix)
A superb interpretation of a track that wasn’t short of some top-notch mixes. On every listen you’ll find something new, it’s a really rewarding listen.

3. Shinichi Osawa – Zingaro (Rhythm Droid Remix)
When Rhythm Droid makes mixes as stunning as this I’m left scratching my head at why he hasn’t taken over the world yet. His time will come, surely?

4. LexiconDon – Student Body (Bit Funk Remix)
Bit Funk’s transformation of LexiconDon deserved all the praise it got, it led to some people comparing him to The Twelves and with work like this he can easily go toe to toe with those guys. It’s simply just an explosion of fun that will get you moving the second you hear it.

5. Bot’ox – Blue Steel (I:Cube Remix)
A mix that can easily fall into the background because it’s so subtle. Put it on some big speakers, play it loud and enjoy the luxurious sounds, it’s a treat.

6. Visitor – Los Feeling (Alan Braxe Remix)
When Braxe pulls the magic out nobody can compete. This remix is a reminder that when the master is on form he can still blow everybody away.

7. Gorillaz – Superfast Jellyfish (Mighty Mouse Remix)
Considering how many superb remixes they did this year it was quite tough to pick which one from Mighty Mouse would make my list. Their remix of Gorillaz is perhaps their most playful and good example of something that will make you dance and smile at the same time.

Gorillaz – Superfast Jellyfish (Mighty Mouse Remix)

8. The Supermen Lovers – Take A Chance (Herr Styler Remix)
Quite a brave remix. Taking a massive funk track and deciding to throw all the funk out of the window. Then replacing the funk with 80′s tropical sounds. It really does work though. Very unique stuff.

The Supermen Lovers – Take A Chance (Herr Styler Remix)

9. Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (Siriusmo Remix)
Breakbot + Siriusmo just didn’t disappoint…

10. Relation – Optimistic (Cassette Club Remix)
Cassette Club polished some right turds this year but this wasn’t one of them. The original is great and everyone benefits. Hope they can get more opportunities with quality material like this in the future.

Ik-Chan’s Top Ten!

1. Bot’Ox – Blue Steel (I:Cube Remix)
This is just an amazingly fantastic remix. Constantly building up so well, makes me feel like I’m going to space or something. I would love to hear this with great sound systems, must be soooo good!! Totally deserves ICHIBAN!

Bot’Ox – Blue Steel (I:Cube Remix)

2.  Shinichi Osawa – Zingaro (Rhythm Droid Remix)
Rhythm Droid came back to my list again with this super cool remix this year. If I were a DJ, I would definitely play this to make people dance and feeling good. Again, I can’t remember how many times I’ve listened to this so far… but still haven’t got bored!

3.  Housse De Racket – Champions (Edwin Van Cleef Remix)
I like the original but I love the nostalgia he added. It’s like a different version of the track rather than a remix for me. Very very nice job on it, Edwin Van Cleef!

4.  Aeroplane – Superstar (The Krays Remix)
I didn’t even know who The Krays were to be honest. Surprised by the quality when I first listened to it.(It makes sense since I know who they are now, one of them is especially talented!) It’s been such an addictive remix for me.

Aeroplane – Superstar (The Krays Remix)

5.  The Vanish – Hold On (Gemini Club Remix)
This has been my favourite since early this year. Gemini Club made it so catchy with nice melody. I also like the ending bit, which I didn’t expect at all.

6.  Late of The Pier – Best in The Class (Soulwax Remix)
It’s always nice to hear the Soulwaxness. I just wonder is there anyone who doesn’t get excited listening to this? (Especially the intro, you just expect it to be explode and it does!)

Late Of The Pier – Best In Class (Soulwax Remix)

7.   Breakbot – Baby I’m Yours (Siriusmo Remix)
The original is great, this remix is also great. Very fun and cute remix. How Breakbot + Siriusmo could fail? It’s really a dream combination!

8.  Matt Van Schie – Be My Lady (Hemingway’s Beach Bossa Mix )
It was so nice listening to this during the summer. Even though I’m not living by the beach, I felt like so! Thanks for giving me an imaginary summer holiday moment!

9.   Clock Opera – Once And For All (Little Loud Remix)
Another cute remix I liked this year. This is the first remix I heard from Little Loud. Hopefully I will hear more from them and also interested in their originals too. Never get enough of cute remixes!

Clock Opera – Once And For All (Little Loud Remix)

10.  Foals – Miami (Fim Fuchs Feat. Flight Facilities Remix)
Very easy to dance to, has nice piano and bass. Everytime I listen to this, I feel motivated for some reasons. Actually, their remix of James Curd was also good and it was quite hard to decide which one should be in!

  1. Nice List! cheers to 2011 and the advancement of TMSxCore!

  2. Nice selection. Happy New Year and looking for more great picks in 2011!

  3. As much as I love Blue Steel (I:Cube Remix) and all of I:Cube’s stuff as Chateau Flight, (I might be the biggest Chateau Flight fan I know) I prefer the Para One and Tacteel remix x10.

Also, which member of The Krays do you think is the talented one? I was a bit shocked by that comment, as Yuksek and Brodinski are both incredibly talented producers and change sound completely when they come together. Each a master at their own sound.

Next year do your list in reverse order so it slowly builds up! Haha, see you guys in 2011, can’t wait for all the 320 bng0rs

  4. Alan Braxes remix is great but StardonE’s remix of Los Feeling is as brilliant!
