That Ali Love is certainly a crazy fellow, giving out lots of high-quality Mp3′s of very good remixes of his work. This time he’s giving away his fantastic new single ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ + 2 free remixes fom Villa (pretty pricey) and Bottin (also probably quite pricey) for nothing.

It makes all the other artists who email TMS saying, “oooh, can you make it 128? I need to make money”, look positively RUBBISH!

よく送られてくるメールなんかで’128でダウンロード出来るようにしてくれない?’なんて聞かれますが皆さん寛大になろうではありませんか。

320 or DIE!!

Although he’ll probably need you to go out and buy his album, Love Harder, when it’s out in August. ;-)

その代わり、アルバムLove Harderが8月にリリースされた際には買ってあげましょう。

Loooool you are amazing, idiot. You think that because your blog is successful, you can spit on artists who spend nights composing tracks? You think there is no reason for unknown artists (not Ali Love…) to give 128 to promote and not 320? You really think 80% of the listeners, will rather buy or support by any way the track if they have a 320 more than if they have a 128/160?

You think your job is hard, compared to the artists jobs. Cyber-promoters of my ass.

Oizo is right. Too many blogs like yours. Hopefully there are some real music fans who run blogs understanding the needs of the artist and not get big headed “omfg, i got visitorz !!!11!111!1″

    Change your fucking mind.

  2. You are a complete and utter fucking idiot.

What part of this post actually looks serious? I know tms isn’t serious blah blah blah blahety-blah. But c’mon…..

If I have to actually explain this to you……

    1. In a roundabout way, I’m acknowledging that all of this is insane. There is no incentive for anybody to go out and buy this single now.

    2. I’m also acknowledging I’m a total whore and I am quite happy to post these mixes. Because, literally, I’ve been given a fucking awesome release to give away for nout.

    3. If you read the blog, which you don’t, you’ll see this blog is littered with shitty 128′s/160′s/192′s + a 123 which I did for the lolz. Also you may notice the fuckload of soundcloud streams. Yay.

  3. I think ‘-F’ must stand for ‘failed artist who you didn’t post’. Or… Fred Falke. I can imagine Fred being all pissed off with you. You don’t post any of his sweet mixes bro.

  4. Big C left his comment and requested we turn it into an image so nobody copy/pastes it.

  5. first poster thinks it’s still 1995. wake up. nobody buys music anymore anyway. the album is a loss leader for the tour. the only difference between giving away your music and selling it is that more people hear it when you give it away.

  6. @angry_artist – djs/ producers often give their high quality tunes out for free because it’s great exposure. most djs aren’t going to play 128 quality files at a show because they sound like shit, but by giving 320s away it’s broadening who will play their stuff out and that will result in X number of people more hearing it.

TMS is a rather large blog and i’m assuming a good number of respected dj/ producers visit more frequently than not. so even though ali love may have lost a buck or 2 on this release, the payoff has the potential to be far greater.

@TMS – 320 or die, bro. *hat tip

  7. I can see that the only one who didn’t argued like an adult (in contrary of my post) is TMS…why am I not surprised…

Like on everywhere on the internet, the first reaction to an opinion is categorizing you as a hater/failed artist who wasn’t posted here/whatever.

I’m still gonna answer seriously the last 2 posters.

Yep, nobody buys music anymore, and contrary to 90% of the composers, I don’t think it’s a good idea at all to complain about illegal downloading. Even if it’s not with money, artists need to have some visibility…it’s just normal for an artist to be seen.

Everybody knows that artists make money from gigs, and I don’t know if we can change that.

It just fed me up to see that a blog (promoting station, that’s cool, whatever) considered the little artist who hesitates in giving directly his 564321 hours of work in full quality, and finally chooses medium quality, as a RUBBISH.

Blogs should all be fucking honoured to receive tracks, as crappy as they are (of course there should be a selection) and not inverting the roles…

128 or 160 is great to give people to me because it’s listenable with a limit, so the listeners will mail the artist/get some news/buy it/get it on zippyshare

I care about how people manage to get the track. I don’t want my tracks to fall into people’s mouth like random food…i want them to remember. That’s why I’m angry.

I hope I was understandable, even if i rather explain myself in french (btw, i’m not falke…poor me)

At least I explained myself…not like the authors of the blog…hopefully the visitors still care about the artists…

    Cheers :)

  8. Dude. It is you is not behaving the adult. Seriously, I answered every single one of your unfounded criticisms and yet again, you go into some tirade about the ‘RUBBISH’ comment which proves once again you didn’t read my response and yeah, I can totally call you out for not reading my blog.. if you make accusations which could easily answered by looking at a few posts, then I’m gonna do that.

It’s all pretty weak and it really does make me believe you are just pissed because you sent me some track/remix and it never got posted…….

Too Many Sebastians is a hobby. People read, some producers read it and well, I’m amazed. But I must be doing something alright. Given all my “visitorz !!!11!111!1″.

Also, I’m not grateful for the awful tracks that I’m sent. Totally not, I’ve heard some stuff which will make your ears bleed. I don’t view a musician to be any higher up the food chain than anybody else. Big name, small name they all get treated the same way. I get around 100 emails a day and 80% of that gets listened too.. not as much as it used to be.. but I have a job. Go figure.

  9. “don’t want my tracks to fall into people’s mouth like random food…”

does this happen? I’ve never had random food just fall into my mouth :(

  10. “the little artist who hesitates in giving directly his 564321 hours of work in full quality”

DAMN! I WANT TO HEAR THAT TRACK!! 564321 HOURS OF WORK! MUST BE BANGING (VIA BANGING 320)

TMS posted a so-so track which i made a few months ago at 160kbps. I got a remix job the next day and bought some random food with it. It was yummy! :-)

  11. Fuck, guys, I was just arguing about one fucking sentence.

“It’s all pretty weak and it really does make me believe you are just pissed because you sent me some track/remix and it never got posted…….”

Why do people who use criticism always get a “hahaha hater” ? Why don’t you take criticism seriously? I don’t understand that.

When I send my tracks/remixes to blogs, they have the right not to like…I’m not hurted of a non-answer. In this case, I never sent you a track but it’d be the same if not…That’s not the problem.

“I don’t view a musician to be any higher up the food chain than anybody else.”

Well, it’s the artist job to show that he’s above the others, in order to be remarked. In my opinion.

One more time, all my first post was about one sentence. I think that you do your job well…but I can’t stand bloggers who think themselves as the only way out of the darkness (nb : i use crappy metaphores because i can’t find the right word in english, lol) for the artists, and get annoyingly proud of it, as if they were artists. That’s just it.

  12. The first time I saw this post, I instantly recognised the TMS tongue-in-cheek nature. Most people that read this blog (I assume) are professionally related to the music business in some shape or form and don’t need a lecture on the rights and wrongs of MP3 downloads, and will understand where Mr. TMS is coming from here.

  13. blogs are dumb, all u need is twitter to find whats goin on and zippyshare to download! obviously! no random food there

  14. You didn’t understand why did I said “random food”…it’s completely different. It’s just that artists want to show that they’re better than other artists. They want to be top food, not shitty food (i can’t stand this shitty metaphore anymore lol)

  15. all finds of lol in this hahahahaha

  16. No one does more to promote up-and-coming artists than the huge blogosphere and anyone who thinks we don’t is a fool.

The statement “It makes all the other artists who email TMS saying, “oooh, can you make it 128? I need to make money”, look positively RUBBISH!”

Surely TMS is saying that Ali is so confident in his music that he is more willing to give it away in high quality! If music is good it will get posted – regardless of quality – always nice to get a 320 though !!

Keep up the good work TMS — your funny dude.

  17. meh.
funny pics but i guess you’re a kid anyway, losing time arguing with you to get no serious answer.

    I definitely hate fluokids.

    PS : http://twitpic.com/25u2kk ;)

  18. I think you now understand TMS.

  19. angry artist

Could you have not just asked them if it was a joke instead of instantly assuming your emotional reaction was correct? Would that have been so hard?

Instead you choose to insult and belittle the hosts of this blog. Not only that, but you fill the statement with questions that imply the answer. This proves that you don’t care about having a discussion that might inform or improve anyone’s thoughts.

Everytime you make these posts, you lower the collective intelligence of humanity, and I for one would appreciate it if you grew a pair of balls and actually engaged in a less childish way.

  20. This is the comments page that keeps on giving. I <3 my blog sometimes.

  21. what the shit was that all about again? hehe
