Why are you called Fear Of Tigers, are you actually scared of Tigers?
It’s not a secret but it’s not something I want to give away to easily. A good knowledge of Art Deco, Williams Blake and the art of alchemy would certainly help. I’m not scared of tigers but my cats do like to take advantage on me when they can!

どうしてFear of Tigerって名前なんですか？そして本当に虎が怖いんですか？
という質問に対しての答えはどうやら名前の由来には秘密があるようです。本人は秘密では無いけど簡単に教えたくは無いとのこと。そしてアールデコやWillians Blakeについての知識がある人なら解るんではないか、とのヒントを貰いました。そして虎が怖いわけではないようです。

You have some Japanese history, would you be able to explain?
Yeah, I was born and raised in Kobe. My parents are from England but I have a load of adopted Japanese cousins and aunties.

日本に居たと聞きましたが？
edなんと神戸生まれで神戸育ちだそうですよ。でも両親はイギリス人で本土に戻ってきたようです。日本人の養子の従兄弟と叔母さんもいるとか。

Why are you releasing the album for free online?
Really I just want to get the record out there and I think giving it away is the best way to do that. I could have put it on my own label and charged but I thought “who’s gonna buy it?” Maybe a couple of people but certainly not enough to keep me in Champagne and suits from Saville Row.

どうして今回のアルバムをタダにしたんですか？
どうやら純粋に色んな人に聞いて欲しかったからだそうです。レーベルからリリースする事も出来たけど誰が買うだろう？と考えた結果タダになったとか。

Do you think the Internet is working in a positive way towards music?
Yes very much so. Anyone with a computer can make and distribute a record now and that can only be a good thing. I think the emergence of blogs like yourself is really turning the media world on it’s head. I’d rather have a load of coverage on some well read blogs than an article in a magazine that nobody reads.

最近のネット環境はポジティブなことだと思いますか？
沢山の人が簡単に音楽活動を出来たりとてもポジティブだと思っているようです。そしてブログも新しい形のメディアとして発展してるし適当な雑誌よりもちゃんとしたブログで扱われて読まれる方が嬉しいそうです。

How would you feel if the album was signed, you were selling it, but people were posting it anyway?
Well, the whole issue of monetising music is a thorny one. The worlds best minds have been trying to work out a way to do it. I guess for me, I just want to make music and share it with people. Of course I’d love to be able to make a living from it but I just don’t know how to do that at the moment.

もしもリリースしたアルバムがネット上でリークしたりしたらどう思いますか？
この質問は勿論ちょっと考えちゃう質問です。彼は基本的に音楽を色んな人とシェアしたいそうでうが勿論音楽で生活出来るようになれれば言うことないとの事。今現在どうすればいいかはまだ模索中との事です。

Cossus Snufsigalonica is an odd name is it something to do with Winnie The Pooh Or Moomins?
Ha! Another secret. I’m not giving this one away either. If I said the pub in Greenwich nearest the tunnel bears part of it’s name that would be a very cryptic clue!

どうやらこれも秘密のようです。どうやらGreenwichにあるパブ名前にヒントがあるとか・・・

When we googled ‘Cossus Snufsigalonica’, google said, “did I mean ‘Cissus Snufsigalonica’”. Did I mean it?
Maybe you did man. I dunno. Did you? Talk to me god damn it!

What have been your favourite tracks this year?
I love the Richard X remix of Dragonette’s ‘Pick Up The Phone’, Method of Modern Love by St Etienne, Overtaken by Edwin Van Cleef has been a big influence.

Which musician do you think should just stop, for love of god stop, making music?
Great question! Green Day for sure. Calvin Harris should carry on producing but STOP singing!

Ooh. Underwater I reckon, then I could search for the lost kingdom of Atlantis. It’s out there somewhere!
